When Pat Wardlaw founded Wardlaw Claims Service back in 1965 he may not have dreamed that his little company would go on to become the trusted industry leader that is today, but we do know that he started the company with a vision. Pat wanted Wardlaw Claims Service to be a family-run business, one that embraced all of the service, ethics and quality ideals that define what being a family-run business means. Today, more than 40 years later, while we may have surpassed Pat’s vision for the company’s success, we’ve done so based largely on his vision of what it meant to be a family-run business, as overseen by a third generation of family.

It is with these ideals in mind that we have been very humbled to have recently received the Baylor University, Hankamer School of Business’ Texas Family Business of the Year Award. As an internationally acclaimed school of business, Baylor’s prestigious award recognizes firms whose families demonstrate a commitment to each other and to business continuity. The firms awarded have proven themselves to be responsive to the needs of their employees, communities and industries. We see this as an affirmation of everything that Pat Wardlaw set out to create, and more.

It’s not often that an independent adjusting company is recognized for its service to the community and its commitment to family values, which makes the receipt of this award all the more humbling. Through 44 years and two generational transitions, Wardlaw has steadfastly remained involved in employee development, our community and local charities with a commitment as strong as our dedication to customer satisfaction and industry leadership. But as much as this recognition means to us, we understand that it’s what it means to our clients, whom it’s been our honor to serve for over 40 years that really matters.
